The Diploma Ceremony brings more than 5000 people to the Rose Hill campus, which makes parking a major challenge. Therefore, we strongly encourage the use of public transportation to Rose Hill on May 22.
We are fortunate to have the Metro-North Harlem and New Haven line trains literally at our doorstep and recommend you consider the train if traveling from Manhattan, Westchester County, or Connecticut. For detailed schedule information on the Metro-North trains, visit the MTA website at mta.info.
Parking at Rose Hill
Limited complimentary parking will be available on the Rose Hill campus for Commencement-related events. The GPS address for parking and campus map can be found on our Directions to Rose Hill page.
Ram Vans to Rose Hill and Lincoln Center
Limited Ram Van trips will be available from the Lincoln Center campus to the Rose Hill campus. Service will be limited and first- come, first-served. Vans will run continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. from the Lincoln Center campus and return van service will continuously depart from Rose Hill at 11:30 a.m. with the last van leaving Rose Hill at 1:30 p.m. No one under the age of 16 is permitted in the Ram Van. For more information, please call the Office of University Transportation at 718-817-4346.
Severe Weather Plan
Because we do not have one indoor facility that is large enough to hold all of our graduates and guests, we will hold the University Commencement ceremony outside if at all possible.
Please be aware that if there is just a little rain or periodic showers, the ceremony will likely remain outside. Therefore, please plan ahead and carry an umbrella, wear sensible shoes, and bring a nice sense of humor.
The decision regarding the severe weather plan will be made on the night of Sunday, May 21. You may check Fordham's website at fordham.edu or call the University at 800-280-7669 for a recorded announcement.
Tickets are required if the ceremony moves indoors and will only be released to graduating students.
If a decision is made to conduct the ceremony indoors, graduates and their guests (with tickets) should report to the Lombardi Fieldhouse.
The University Commencement Ceremony and each of the college and school diploma ceremonies will be livestreamed. At the law school diploma ceremony each student’s name is announced and they receive a ceremonial scroll from the dean.
The livestream can be viewed here on Monday, May 22, 2023.
